My own journey with hairdressing began at the age of 15, at a salon in Bulwell town centre. Through hard work and dedication, I ascended the ranks, eventually managing a successful salon for over 5 years. During those years, I had the privilege of training numerous young people in the art of hairstyling. Many of them have gone on to have very successful careers within the industry, even travelling the world to pursue their passion.

Over the past decade, I've juggled operated my own mobile hairdressing business with being a Mum to two wonderful girls. Now, it's time for a new chapter. I am at a point in life where giving back to the community that gave me so much is something I am very keen to do. I believe that growing up in what is classed a deprived area doesn't define your potential. In my experience, these neighborhoods are filled with strong-willed, capable individuals just waiting to be discovered.

Hence, the birth of New You Hair Academy, an alternative provision dedicated to transforming lives through the art and skill of hairdressing. This academy is not just a place to learn; it's a haven of opportunity, a space where dreams are nurtured, talents are honed, and the extraordinary potential within our community is unleashed.
